The Chair Teams are scheduled so that they do set-up and take-down only one week per month. Chairs are set-up on Saturday p.m. and taken down after the second service, approximately 12:00 noon. Time required to set-up is 45 minutes; take-down 35-40 minutes. Can you help us? If you can, call Pastor Pat, 747-1531 or sign-up on the tear-off sheet of your bulletin.

COMMUNION PREP TEAM We celebrate the Lord's Supper at Avalon about once a month, and those elements don't just show up with a big "poof!" Our Communion Prep Team spends about an hour preparing communion on the Saturday before, and then another hour on Sunday morning to clean it all up. If we have ten to twelve folks who volunteer to help. Your help behind the scenes helps make worship a meaningful experience for everyone and brings home the meaning of Christ's sacrifice. It makes a difference! If you're interested in more information about his ministry or would like to volunteer to help, you can call Doris Hough at 432-4888 or Sarah Soares at 437-7944.
LABELS FOR THE SCHOOL The preschool has begun participating in the Campbell's Labels for Education. This program is similar to the Box Tops, labels are redeemed for supplies. Items redeemed for the school also benefit the kids who attend church at Avalon. Collection containers along with a list of new items to collect are located at the Welcome Center and Kids' Connection Sign-in. Thanks for supporting Avalon School.

PRAYER CARDS ENHANCE OUR MINISTRY Don't forget that there are prayer cards in our attendance folders - two kinds: · One is a card you can list a prayer concern on. Our pastor will pray for your request, and, if you ask, we'll put it on our weekly prayer list. · Another is a card you can write a quick note to someone for whom you have been praying. Slap a stamp on it and drop it in the mail, and your thoughtfulness will be a source of encouragement for them this week!
PRAYER REQUEST BOX AT WELCOME CENTER Our Prayer Team recently introduced a new way for you to share your prayer concerns and needs. At the Welcome Center you'll see our new Prayer Request Box, thanks to the talented woodworking skills of our own Lerland Fogwell! If you are aware of a need within our church family or would like the members of our Prayer Team, our Leadership Council and our staff to be praying for a concern, please note that on one of the prayer cards and drop it in the Prayer Request Box. We'll join you in casting that care upon the Lord and asking for His grace and power in that circumstance.
COULD YOU PRAY ONE MINUTE A DAY FOR OUR NATION? It is reported that during World War II an advisor to Winston Churchill organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to pray collectively for the safety of England, its people and for peace. There is now a movement developing to do the same in our country for such a time as this. If you would like to participate, you can pause every evening at 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) and spend one minute praying for our nation, our troops, and for a return to God. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have! Here's a chance to make a real difference!

Just a reminder that when you have a family member or know of someone in our church family that has a need for visitation and prayer, call the church office or notify the VAL Coordinators, Sue Byrd or Lois Steiner and a coordinated effort will be made to schedule a visitation plan. We that all of you for being so open to this ministry and for making it work so well for our church members! It's a blessing to see Visible Acts of Love making a difference as Avalon.
